What is typically involved in an evaluation?

The evaluations generally include a parent and/or client interview, review of records, direct testing sessions, rating scales, classroom observation (when the evaluation is school-based/IEE), and a review meeting.

How long does a typical evaluation take?

Once all of the intake documents are received, the evaluation appointments are scheduled. Each testing session may last from 2-3 hours. Upon completion of all of the evaluation procedures, the report and meeting may be completed within 60 days, depending on scheduling needs and individual circumstances.

What is the IEE process with your office?

When a school or transitioned-aged student has been approved for an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE), the parent/guardian will be provided with written approval for the evaluation(s). The parent, district, and/or authorized representative contacts our office. When the decision is made to move forward with the evaluation, the C4K admin team will work with the parent and district to obtain authorizations and necessary documents.

Once the approvals, documents, and records are received, our office will schedule the evaluation appointments (i.e. intake/interviews, direct testing appointments, and/or observations). When all of the evaluation steps are completed, a written report is provided. A review meeting is then scheduled to share the evaluation results with the parent and educational team, when requested.

Does Connect4Kids offer evaluations by speech pathologists or occupational therapists?

We do not offer evaluation services for other disciplines; however, we do collaborate with other qualified providers. We are glad to provide you a list of those evaluators, upon request.

Do you accept medical insurance?

Our office does not bill medical insurance. Payment arrangements may be made with the office and we accept multiple forms of payments. We do accept major credit cards (charges may apply).

In some cases, a parent/guardian may submit a Superbill to their insurance agency for reimbursement for psychological testing, interpretation, and report writing; however, this is not a guarantee that the services will be reimbursed.
