How did you get into the field?

I taught in an elementary school for 12 years- specifically grades K-6. I saw what the school psychologists were doing and I wanted to get into that field, as evaluating students and determining their unique needs was very interesting.

What do you find most meaningful about the work you do?

Helping students and their parents understand the student's unique strengths and challenges and helping to design a program that will meet their needs.

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy reading, boating, and traveling.

What is something clients wouldn’t guess about you?

I was a surfer when I was younger.

What is a key moment in working with children?

That “AHA!” moment when I realize what the student is trying to tell me.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I initially wanted to be a veterinarian, as I love animals.
